Principal’s Report
As the cool air settles in and the golden colours of autumn leaves brighten our school grounds, it’s clear that the cooler months are well and truly upon us. The change in seasons brings with it not only beautiful scenery, but also a reminder to rug up and stay warm, especially during morning drop offs and outdoor activities.
We’ve noticed a few jumpers and jackets turning up in lost property recently. With many students layering up for the cold, it’s easy for uniform items to go missing. Please ensure your child’s name is clearly labelled on all clothing to help us return lost items quickly.
National Reconciliation Week
This week as we celebrate National Reconciliation Week, we take the time to acknowledge and celebrate the history and culture of Indigenous Australians and work towards Reconciliation through activities and discussions.
Funky Hair Day – Fundraiser for Headspace Bendigo
Get ready to show off your wildest, wackiest hair this Friday, 30th May! Come to school with your hair styled in the most funky, colourful, or creative way you can imagine - think bold hair accessories, temporary dye, and out of this world styles! Don’t forget to wear your school uniform. Remember to bring a gold coin donation to support Headspace Bendigo and help raise awareness for mental health.
Classroom Mastery
Last Wednesday our staff participated in Classroom Drop-Ins led by Sara Wiggins from Classroom Mastery. Staff and students were abuzz with excitement as special guests visited their classrooms.
Classroom drop-ins are a pivotal component of the professional learning and coaching model designed to enhance classroom management and instructional practices. These drop-ins involve experienced coaches or school leaders observing teachers during live classroom sessions to provide real-time feedback and support.
Classroom Mastery is an evidence-based, whole-school behaviour management program developed by Knowledge Society. The program aims to help schools and education systems reduce classroom disruption and create safe, calm and productive learning environments where learning takes priority.
Farewell and Best Wishes
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Hayley Smith and Alyssa Cole as they begin their maternity leave. Alyssa and Hayley have made a wonderful contribution to our school community, with dedication, warmth and care for our staff and students.
We wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing baby news.
Sacramental Celebrations
This week we celebrate the students from St Kilian’s who will receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
The Sacramental Masses will occur in the St Kilian’s Parish on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We congratulate the candidates receiving the Sacraments over the weekend and thank the parents of the candidates for their support and preparation during the Sacramental program.
All members of our school community are invited to attend the masses to support our students. Parish Masses are Saturday 31st May at 6:30 pm and Sunday 1st June at 10:00 am.
