Principal's Message
Mrs Kaileen Carr
On Tuesday night Jemma Rust from Real Schools presented to our parent community information about our Restorative Practice partnership. She discussed behaviour strategies being used in the classroom and how these strategies could be applied at home to help with parenting.
Parents were asked what they wanted from our school and comments included - that parents wanted to see their children build and maintain relationships, they wanted their children to learn how to cope with frustrations and they wanted their children to learn how to show empathy. Great responses which sparked lots of conversations about how Real Schools is helping us achieve these things in partnership with students, community and staff. Thanks to the parents who braved the cold weather to support our journey.
Jemma also mentioned some books that may be of interest to parents :-
Congratulations to all our Cross Country runners who competed at Western Region in Orange yesterday.
Darcy Watson, Rhys Simmons and Sophie Dutton will compete at the NSWPSSA Cross Country Championships in Sydney on the 23/7/2025.
Reminders:
There are a lot of students playing in the park across the road of a morning. Please remind your child/children that they are to come directly to school when they are walking to school or being dropped off at school. There is no supervision at the park. I would appreciate your help in keeping our students safe.
There will be no School Crossing Supervisor at our school crossing tomorrow (Friday 13 June) - morning or afternoon. Additional staff will monitor the crossing. Please consider the safety of our students during this period.
Please ensure you are explaining your child/children's absences through School bytes or by contact the office as soon as you can. There is so much sickness going around at the moment this can be easily overlooked.
School Community Charter - Please read the attached document outlining the School Community Charter.
At Eglinton we strive to ensure that all teachers, students, parents and community members treat each other with dignity and respect. This is inclusive of drop off and pick up times. The school is committed to building a positive school culture where student, staff and parent wellbeing is a priority. I appreciate your support.
