Resilience Project

Juniors Fortnightly Recap
This fortnight the Juniors have been learning about emotion literacy. The children have explored how emotions feel in our bodies and faces, and how they might be expressed by themselves or others. The Juniors have watched several Resilience Project videos and listened to picture books that require the children to mimic facial expressions and recognise how others might be feeling (empathy). These are important skills that children need to be good communicators and create lasting friendships.
Seniors Fortnightly Recap
The Seniors have been engaging in discussions around recognising and recalling positive emotions. We have spent some time sharing about our most happy memories and sharing these with each other. Then focussing on how positive memories and emotions can help us get through a tough time. Finally, we have started a 'compliments project' where each student has an envelope and the class write a compliment for a class mate each week. At the end of 10 weeks, the students will get to take these home.

Support From Home: At school, we are proud to be using The Resilience Project to help students build important life skills in resilience, gratitude, empathy and mindfulness. These evidence-based lessons support wellbeing and emotional growth in fun and practical ways.
To continue this learning at home, we encourage families to visit http://www.theresilienceproject.com.au/at-home .The website offers simple activities, videos, and conversation starters you can use together to build a positive and connected home environment that strengthens what we're doing at school.
