Senior Report

Miss Langley - Senior Classroom Teacher

In Literacy, we have been continuing to develop our ability to write a Personal Response and Book Summary to "Finding Our Heart". We have now concluded this learning topic and will be looking at Australian Poetry for the next three weeks. I would also like to say how PROUD I am of the senior students for their commitment to their reading with two students sitting on the 125 night cloud, one on the 75 night cloud, two on the 50 night cloud and one on the 25 night cloud and three working towards the 25 night cloud. Some mornings the junior students have been coming into the senior room and reading to the senior students. They both equally love it!

In Mathematics, the senior students have been learning about Data Representation, the different ways we can display data and data variables. This week, we looked at Qualitative vs Quantitative data - we created some rules to remember what is what (quiz your kids) - they will love it!

In Outdoor Classroom, we were fortunate enough to have Bunnings visit and the kids got their hands dirty planting lots of beautiful native plants around the school and our veggie garden is now jam packed full of delicious vegetable seedlings.
