Push Up Challenge

The ‘awesome’ PDS1 class (including Maddy K, Maddy D, Lucy, Thomas, Ollie, Hamish, Jayden, Brodie, Zierra and Holly) have been preparing the Push Up Challenge Fundraiser since the start of June.  

The idea of Project was to raise Mental Health awareness and funds for Headspace Wangaratta using the Push Up Challenge and they had to convince their teacher, Harry Hildebrand (to do the actual Push Ups).  They also planned a BIG FINALE on Thursday the 19th of June including a Sausage Sizzle and a Casual Clothes day for the school…where Harry finished the final 200 of the Total of 3,214 Push Ups (sadly representing the number of deaths by suicide in 2023) for the challenge.

After an inspiring visit from Lara (ex-WHS student and Headspace employee) we set about planning the whole event, which officially started on Thursday 5 June…with Harry doing 200 push ups every lunchtime.

Thanks to everyone involved (including the superstars – like Mr Paola & Chris Marshall, just to name two…of many - who completed some Push Ups with Harry) and special thanks to all of those who donated money/bought sausages/came in casual clothes (and paid their gold coin).

We hope that these funds will have a big positive impact on mental health in Wangaratta.
