Family and Faith

From the Family Educator

The Ascension and Pentecost

Risen Lord Jesus,

You returned to the Father, but You didn't leave us alone.

Help us to live with hope and confidence, knowing You are still with us through Your Spirit. May we be Your witnesses, bringing joy, truth and love to the world.

Give us courage to share our faith, and remind us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves.

We ask this Christ, our Lord. Amen

Year 5 and 6 SPaR- Reaching out to our Elders in Care

Over the past two weeks Stage 3 students, along with their parents, have participated in SPaR (Stop, Pray and Reflect) to reach out to those in our local nursing homes.

God says, “That every generation is to care for men and women that precede them. Honouring fathers and mothers is the 5th commandment”

As part of our SPaR, students have composed heartfelt letters that will be delivered to nursing homes, aiming to reconnect with local senior citizens. Our goal is to establish ongoing contact with these facilities, providing vital support to those who may be feeling isolated or alone.

Looking ahead, the Pope Francis students are scheduled to visit Percy Miles Aged Care at the end of this term. During their visit, they'll share morning tea and engage in meaningful conversations with residents, embodying the principle from John 3:18 “Our love is not just words but something real and active”.

A reminder of some of the activities for you to engage with during the next couple of weeks of Term 2, 2025
