Dear Parents and Carers,
Changes to Semester Reports – General Comment Update
This semester, you may notice a slight change in the format of your child’s school report. Each student will now receive one General Comment that provides a snapshot of their learning, growth, and contributions across the semester.
The purpose of this comment is to offer a more personal and holistic overview of your child as a learner — highlighting strengths, areas for development, and their involvement in school life. Teachers have worked thoughtfully to ensure the comments reflect each student’s individual progress and character.
To support this change, our staff have participated in professional development and collaborative writing sessions to ensure consistency while capturing the individuality of each student.
These reports are just one way we share your child’s learning journey with you. You will receive the same report format in semester 2. Below is a summary of the key elements you’ll see included in the semester report.
Achievement Levels – (Years 1–6)
Achievement Levels – (Kindergarten Only)
Kindergarten students are reported using three achievement levels:
Effort Descriptors – Years K–6
Learning and Social Behaviours
These are reported using: Sometimes, Usually, or Always.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held this year on Wednesday 2nd July throughout the day. These conferences are a fantastic chance to discuss your child's report, address any questions you have, and share any concerns or queries with their teachers. We'll send out more detailed information as the date approaches.
If you would like to request additional information comparing your child’s achievement to others in their year group, please contact the school office.
DID YOU KNOW?
85% of school children take a packed lunch to school every day. On average, these lunchboxes contain more than three servings of sometimes foods.
The food children consume at school impacts their concentration, health and wellbeing. By improving lunchboxes, we can make a huge difference! The school lunchbox contains approximately one third of a child’s daily energy intake – a significant opportunity to improve nutrition and health outcomes.
Everyday foods help kids grow and learn, and by swapping out sometimes foods we are setting children up for the best possible physical, mental and behavioural performance at school and home.
Next term we will be involved in the SWAP IT program. SWAP IT is an evidence-based, healthy lunchbox program for primary schools. The program supports parents and carers to SWAP what is packed in their child’s lunchbox from sometimes foods to everyday foods.

Please keep an eye out for more on this next term.
