Dear Families of Our Lady Star of the Sea,
This Sunday, we will celebrate Pentecost Sunday, one of the most significant feasts in our Church calendar — often referred to as the birthday of the Catholic Church. On Pentecost, we remember the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, empowering them to go out and proclaim the Good News to people of all nations.
It was the beginning of the Church’s mission in the world — a mission we are all called to continue today. Pentecost reminds us of the strength, courage, and unity that the Holy Spirit brings. It is a time to renew our commitment to living out the values of love, peace, and service in our school and beyond. As we prepare to celebrate this joyful feast, let us take a moment to pray together:

Prayer for Pentecost
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the Earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructed the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Car Line Safety – A Shared Responsibility
I’d like to take a moment to address an important reminder about morning drop-off, particularly at the Kiora Road entrance. I kindly ask that parents and carers remain in their vehicles during drop-off. Please do not get out of your car to open doors, or park and walk your child into the school grounds. I understand this can be tricky, especially with little ones, but it’s essential for ensuring everyone’s safety and keeping traffic flowing smoothly.
This request is not only based on common-sense courtesy but also came up during our recent Work, Health and Safety audit — a concern shared across many schools. Let’s do our part to keep each other safe.
Can I also gently ask that we continue to show kindness and patience in the car line? Sometimes we just need to wait an extra 60 seconds — and that’s okay. A little patience goes a long way in building a respectful and supportive community.
Finally, please remember to turn left when exiting the driveway. This may be inconvenient for some, but it’s a vital part of our traffic management plan. Turning left helps to reduce congestion and ensures a safer exit for all. It might add a few extra minutes to your journey, but the safety of our children and community must always come first.
Thank you for your understanding and please pass this important message on to anyone that uses the drop off/ pick up areas for carlines, including grandparents. I don't want anyone feeling embarrassed for not knowing the rules at Our Lady Star of the Sea.

Tell Them From Me Survey – Final Days!
A heartfelt thank you to all parents who have already completed the Tell Them From Me parent survey. Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping our goals and guiding the ongoing improvement of our school. If you haven’t yet had the chance, we warmly encourage you to complete the survey before it closes in the coming days. It takes only about 15 minutes, and your input helps us continue to provide the best possible learning and faith environment for your children. The link to this survey can be found here.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. May the Holy Spirit inspire us all as we prepare to celebrate Pentecost as a community of faith.
God Bless,
Mrs Maria Rose
