BANKSIA NEWS

What have we been doing in the Banksia classroom this week?

The children have continued to positively build on their identity and sense of belonging within their classroom learning environment this week. We’ve used the children’s shared creative interests in play-based learning experiences to encourage social interactions, build emotional connections with peers and have lots of fun!

Water Play

The children have loved exploring the indoor water trough tray this week within the classroom. The children were filling up the plastic bottles, using hands-on exploration to find the correct bottle lids in the water, independently turning the lids on top of the bottle heads and then squirting the water into the trough tray. Water play is a fantastic activity for developing the children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they pour, squeeze and stir.

Painting

We’ve been making a lot of colourful artwork at the painting easel this week! The children have used the different coloured paints to express their creative ideas. It has been wonderful to see the children proudly share their creative achievements with their teachers, peers and families.

We are looking forward to more fun in the Banksia classroom next week!
