YEAR 11 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

MRS MONIQUE WATT - PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TEACHER

Year 11 Personal Development students recently visited the Food for All Food Hub, a vital local initiative providing food relief for those in need in our community. As part of their unit on community health and wellbeing, the students learned about the different ways food insecurity affects people and how the Hub works to provide essential resources. They also gained an understanding of the importance of social responsibility and contributing to the well-being of their community.

The students plan to volunteer their time at the Food Hub, assisting with various tasks such as sorting and packing donations and preparing food parcels. These hands-on experiences will provide students with a valuable opportunity to see firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and families in their community, and the crucial role the Food Hub plays in offering support.

The school is encouraging anyone with excess fruit or vegetables to donate them to the Food Hub by contacting Tania Lawry from Swan Hill District Health on 0456 641 739.

We look forward to sharing updates on the students' volunteer work at the Food Hub in the future.
