Do Your Best ~ Help Others Succeed ~ Respect Our School

Please support our efforts to create, promote and build a positive, safe and respectful school environment & culture by speaking with your child regularly about concepts and ideas appearing on these pages!

After some reflection on our recently introduced approach for when something or someone is bothering us...

KEEP DOING WHAT I AM DOING

MOVE AWAY!

ASK SOMEONE FOR HELP!

We have also introduced some teaching around "IF I am bothering someone and they 'keep doing what they are doing' and / or 'move away' then I let them do so!"

This then becomes an opportunity for me to find someone else to play with, engage in another activity, move to another place in the yard or Learning Suite, have some quiet time on my own or play on the playground equipment.

"When someone or something is bothering me I can...

                1. Keep doing what I am doing!

                2. Move away!

                3. Ask someone for help!"

We will continue to use these and other evidence-based strategies in support of our School Wide Positive Behaviour approach.

Speaking Kindly Using Right Words

Our Staff Team will be focussing our children's attention on 'Use of Language'. As the saying goes "Language is a Powerful Thing!" We should consider the impact on 'what we say' and 'how we say things' to others.

Together with conversations on this important way of 'Doing Our Best' and 'Helping Others Succeed'. Our Staff Team will be asking children to focus on 'Using Our Words', 'Using Right Words' and reflecting on more socially accepted ways to express ourselves.
