Resorative Practices

Restorative Practices

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your enthusiastic participation in our recent community education evening, led by the insightful Kirsty Lush from Real Schools. It was a privilege to come together as a community and delve into the essential topic of "Building a Resilient Child."

Kirsty's engaging talk offered a treasure trove of strategies aimed at nurturing resilience in our young ones. Throughout the evening, she emphasised the profound impact of managing conflict, repairing harm, and strengthening the vital relationships between staff, students, and home. We were particularly inspired by her insights into the power of intentional language and affective statements in effectively engaging children.

Additionally, Kirsty highlighted the significance of fostering reflective abilities in children, a principle we actively promote through our Past, Present, Future (PPF) strategy here at school. By cultivating a growth mindset, we can empower our young ones to confront challenges with maturity and increasing independence.

Another key takeaway from our partnership with Real Schools is the importance of validating all emotions and assisting children in identifying their own feelings.

Kirsty's roadmap for achieving all this for our children was both enlightening and actionable. We highly recommend our parent community to engage with the attached video to delve deeper into these invaluable insights.

As we reflect on the wisdom shared during this evening, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to nurturing our children cognitively, emotionally, and spiritually. Together, we form a supportive network dedicated to equipping our young ones with the resilience and skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Should you have any questions or require further clarification on any of the topics discussed, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your engagement and partnership are instrumental in our shared mission of fostering resilient and thriving young individuals.
