Learning & Teaching

Year 1

Year 1 students have been focusing on a healthy body and healthy mind as part of our Inquiry approach. We have read, written and discussed the benefits of healthy eating and exercise, which led us into healthy minds and identifying different emotions. Students are recognising that they may feel many emotions in one day and are exploring strategies to recognise and manage these emotions.

Year 5

The Year 5 students have jumped right into our term-long inquiry topic, which focuses on every aspect of health with an emphasis on our mental, physical, and nutritional wellbeing. Students have been alternating through workshops on mentioned areas of wellbeing for the last three weeks.

In our recent Chrism Unit session, children delved into the rich symbolism of the Brigidine Cross, a meaningful emblem in religious practice. With hands-on engagement, they crafted their own crosses, deepening their understanding of its significance within the context of our faith.
