Meet our year 6 teachers

Ms Victoria

(6A) and Team leader

Hi everyone, I’m Miss Victoria and this is my second year at PMPS. I have six years teaching experience, two of those in England. Since moving to Australia in 2019, I have fallen in love with the landscape and lifestyle and I am lucky enough to say I am now a permanent resident. In my free time I like reading, going on hikes and camping, spending time in the Melbourne sun and catching up with my friends.

  • What I'm reading right now: Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen
  • Favourite sport: Roller Skating
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): Maths
  • How long I've taught at PMPS: 2 years.

Ms Bo

(6B)

Hi there, my name is Bo, I am one of the year six teachers. This is my second year at Port Melbourne Primary School, and what I love about the school is the friendly community. When I'm not working, I use the remainder of my time seeing my family or friends or being active, whether it be a run, bike ride, swim or hike. I am a proud supporter of the Brisbane Lions and have recently joined a football team myself, which is both scary and exciting!

  • What I'm reading right now: My emails
  • Favourite sport: AFL
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): Health
  • How long I've taught at PMPS: 1 year.

Ms Caroline

(6C) - Monday - Thursday

My PMPS journey began in 2015 as a prep teacher; nine years later I am at the other end of the school in Year 6. I love working in different year groups because like the kids, I need a change every few years. Many years ago, when I was at school, I really loved PE and Woodwork. In VCE, I was lucky enough to be chosen as the School Sport Captain where I learned to manage students and organise events. In Woodwork, I learned how to make a side table which still sits proudly in my parent’s lounge room.

I like to think of myself as a bit of a storyteller, sharing many a funny story about life growing up on a dairy farm and sharing weird and wonderful experiences from my travels prior to mum life. My reputation as a teacher, I would say is probably firm but fair, wishing to create a calm space where students want to do their best. Of course, the students may think differently!

  • What I'm reading right now: Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
  • Favourite sport: Swimming
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): PE and Woodwork
  • How long I've taught at PMPS: 9 years.

Mr Paul

(6C) - Fridays

Bonjour. This is my 6th year working at PMPS as a French Teacher and my 4th year of teaching in the classroom on Fridays. While I love teaching French to the whole school throughout the week, I am also very excited to work in 6C this year. I was born in Canada, but moved to Australia in 2013. In 2022, I was thrilled to become an Australian citizen. When I am not teaching, I love to travel and read. I also collect board games and have a collection of over 50!

  • What I'm reading right now: Steven King's 'Dark Tower' Series
  • Favourite sport: Ice Hockey
  • My favourite subject (when I was at school): French and Maths
  • How long I've taught at PMPS: 5 years.
