Harmony Week
March 18th - 24th 2024
Across the school there are a number of events being organised to celebrate Harmony Week. In the Library, we have started a window display to get students thinking about how diverse our student population really is.
Students and staff are being asked to write on paper leaves where their family is from. They can go back as many generations as they like and can include non-genetic family if they wish. We hope to fill the windows with leaves by the time Harmony Week officially starts on Monday 18th March.
So far, we have leaves from 34 countries: Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Algeria, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania, Qatar, Israel, Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania, Ukraine, Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, China, Chile, Canada, USA, New Zealand, Malaysia.
Please encourage your students to write on a leaf (or multiple leaves if they have family from multiple countries) to share their diverse background. Look out for details about more Harmony Week activities at school and across the broader Ballarat community.
