Wellbeing

Mothers day/Special persons day

On Friday 10th May, Anglicare held an amazing afternoon tea for our mothers/special people. With cakes, tea and coffee aplenty, our students honoured their guest by doing colouring activities, making jewellery with beads, manicures and a hand massage. We'd like to extend our deepest thanks to Natalie and the Anglicare team.  A huge thankyou also to Kay, Jemima  and Georgia for their efforts to make this afternoon very special.

Congratulations to Linda C for winning the raffle!

Hands  On Learning (HoL)

Hands on Learning is a practical school program that builds wellbeing, engagement, and attendance by creating opportunities for students to discover their talents and experience success through significant and authentic hands-on projects. At Bittern PS, our HoL program is expertly led by Georgia and Brenda.

                   HoL  Report

We have a few projects currently on the go in HoL. We are making a HoL sign for our shed out of recycled materials. Bottle caps, shells, nails, old tools and sticks. We are excited to show you the finished product.

This week we worked hard moving soil to fill our garden beds where we planted rhubarb, lettuce and raspberries. This week the lunch we shared together was spaghetti on toast or chicken noodle soup.

Each week students are given an individualised focus plan. At the end of the session, we sit together and discuss how we think we went with our focus plans. Students also share with other HoL members when and how they saw them implementing or achieving their focus plans.

Some examples of what we are working on so far this term include

  1. Sharing your opinion with the group
  2. Make a decision confidently
  3. Be proud of your work
  4. Try hard even when a task is challenging
  5. Learn something new about someone in the group
