Girls Footy

On Monday the 6th of May some grade 5 & 6 girls attended the Girls gala day which is a day for girls to play footy. It was so much fun. We were so lucky to attend this day. We played 8,10 minute games. We won 5 out of 8 games. Which made us come 4th out of 20 teams, we were one away from the finals. Some people took such hard hits including Millie who smashed her head on the floor and got footy boots to the head, Harpa who got a ball to the face, there are so many more hard hits that I could talk about. Lots of people pushed themselves outside their comfort zones. Although we versed some challenging teams we ended up 4th which was one of the highest places Woori has ended up. Thank you Lisa Syme, Max Dawell & Noah Sajo for helping out with this day. In the end it was so much fun and a good day to hangout.  Millie Wotherspoon 5/6D

On girls footy day I had so much fun playing with my friends. We came 4th out of 18 teams. We won 5 games and lost 3 games. I played backline, midfield and wig. Some highlights were when someone got hurt but everyone went to them and checked that they were okay. We had good team spirit. Everyone tried their hardest and if they got tired they kept trying. We all shared the ball around and everyone at least touched the ball once.

At the girls footy day I had so much fun. I loved kicking the ball and most of all, tackling. One special moment for me was when I kicked the ball and scored a point. Even though the score was not that much, it was still so special. As a team we came 4th out of all the 18 teams. Some highlights were for the whole team was every time someone got hurt or fell we all came rushing to help them. Me and the others bonded so much and we enjoyed it. Even though we had some ups and downs we all helped each other as best as we could. Footy is so fun and everyone did so well.
