What a busy few weeks we have had a Woori.
I have been busy meeting with students, visiting classrooms and doing lots of learning to make sure out students are getting the best instruction possible. I know I am bias when I say this but we really do have the best students at our school and I have been so impressed with their learning and their drive to meet their goals in the past fortnight.
For those of you that never met Inca, she was our seeing eye dog "in training". Inca left us last week as she graduated and is onto the next chapter of her training. We are sad that we wont see her bounding around the hallways but we are so proud of her for passing.
I’m sure that the students have come home this week telling you all that Mr Gibbons hasn’t been at school. Unfortunately, he has had to have surgery as he has ruptured his patella tendon (which mean his kneecap was in his thigh). This will mean a bit of a recovery as he needs to keep his leg straight for a little while. We wish Mr Gibbons a speedy recovery.
The grade 6 students represented our school this week at the Upper Yarra RSL. The students participated in a ceremony and Molly and Charlotte presented the address to service men.
The students learnt about the ANZAC spirit and then got to spend time with students from other school.
I have been in the hall and basketball courts every day this week and I know I said it last fortnight but we are now on the home stretch and the hall is looking amazing. I can’t wait for us to be in this new space.
I would like to thank Rachel Ward who has stepped up into my position while I have been Oliver. Rach has seamlessly taken on my jobs and also made sure we achieved our daily ‘to do’ lists. Thank you Rach for being my right hand girl, we are so lucky to have you, your knowledge and your expertise.
Have a wonderful weekend and I cannot wait to see you around the school next week.
