Berry St Training

On Monday, our staff completed their final day of Berry St Training. The Berry Street Educational Model is a practical approach to teaching and learning, which focuses on student engagement, self-regulation, growth and academic achievement. We are grateful to the staff for their involvement and look forward to seeing this model continue to be integrated throughout the school.

ANZAC Day Service

This afternoon, Charlton College will conduct an ANZAC Day Service. This is an important opportunity for our students, staff and wider school community to come together to show their respects and honour those who have served and continue to serve today. We will welcome past student Captain Paul Scott to join us as a speaker at our Service. Prior to retirement, Paul had an extensive career with the Royal Australian Navy. Our student leaders will also play a very important role in today’s program. We thank them in advance for their contributions, as well as the staff who have worked hard to make the necessary arrangements. Our student leaders and members of our school community are encouraged to attend the community service tomorrow.

Due to the ANZAC Day Public Holiday, there will be no school tomorrow, however our students, in particular our student leaders, are encouraged to participate in the community ANZAC Service.

The plans are listed below for your reference:

8.30am: Students asked to arrive at cenotaph in High Street

8.55am: Wreath laying in the order of RSL & Council, schools & community organisations, individuals

Formalities of the morning: The Last Post, Reveille, Ode, march to Shire Hall in Armstrong St

9.30am: Formalities at Shire Hall commence

School Fete

The annual Parent’s Club Mother’s Day Fete is just around the corner and will take place at the College on Thursday 2nd May. As has been the case in previous years, the fete is cashless, and tickets can be purchased prior to the day or at the fete. The fete is a significant fundraising event, which provides the College with wonderful resources. It is a labour-intensive process, so we are incredibly grateful for the work that is being done behind the scenes by the Parent’s Club, staff and students. If you can help out in any way, please jump on board. Specific details are featured throughout the newsletter.
