Year 7 Camp

What a start!

The Year 7 cohort have settled into secondary school life and hit the ground running in Term Two! On Monday April 22nd we travelled to the Murray Life Adventure Camp just outside of Echuca, for two ‘glamping’ nights next to our very own stretch of the Murray River. The students quickly found their bunk mates and set up their huts before moving into a fun filled afternoon in the sun! They tackled the team building adventure course, mastered the ‘Bush Surfing’ island hop on the zip lines, and tried their hand at archery in the hay bales. Special mention to Chase Dyer for nailing the balloon bullseye, I hope you enjoyed your extra scoop of ice cream! We finished the afternoon off with fishing in the river, well done to Katie Young for catching her first ever fish, a beautiful silver perch.

A great day, followed by roasting marshmallows around the fire.

Day two was sunny and 25 degrees, perfect for a morning of thrill seeking activities. The groups rotated through the giant swing, zip-lining over the water, and challenging themselves on the rock climbing and abseiling wall. Shout out to Jasper Borg for making it to the top on the extreme level, well done! After a late night talking with friends they needed a relaxing afternoon, and fishing, kayaking and swimming were the requests of the day.

After a few hours of water fun, we retired to the camp fire and pop-up outdoor cinema to watch an outdoor movie and roast marshmallows. The following morning saw a lot of sleepy Year 7’s ready for home. We did a few team building activities to finish off on a high note, and boarded the bus back to our own beds. It was a fantastic camp and lots of fun was had by all. Thank you to Murray Life Adventures for the hospitality, Mrs. Penrose, Mr. Cross, Mr. Coady and Miss. Aldridge for all your help, and the Year 7’s for your excellent attitudes and behaviour. Well done everyone! Miss Moises.
