A note from the Principal
Hello everyone.
This edition of ‘Healesville High Connections’ highlights the achievements and participation of students and staff in a wide variety of events; academic, sporting, artistic and creative. It reports on events held toward the end of last term and those already held this term. By so doing it serves to remind us of just how productive, successful, and busy the school is, and how enthusiastically our students grasp the opportunities on offer.
Thank you to students for your willingness to embrace these opportunities. Congratulations to each of you. Thanks also to each member of staff for your enthusiasm and expertise; for providing an almost endless range of experiences and opportunities for our students.
In this edition you will read about the academic progress being made in English, science, maths, health and physical education, humanities, and outdoor education. The instrumental music report reminds us that on Thursday June 20, the first semester concert is an event not to be missed. Our students have excelled at athletics, and cross country, at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Healesville RSL, in AFL football at representative level, at the school Open Night and in providing services to our local primary schools, and reports and photographs of each are contained within this publication. This is a jam-packed edition, full of achievements, highlights, community service and excellence!
Congratulations to Summer Kirby, the ‘Star’ in this edition of ‘Connections’.
Thank you to each of the contributors and thank you to staff and students.
Year 8 camp
Year 8 students will be on camp on Phillip Island from Monday May 13 to Wednesday May 15 and parents and students should note that on Thursday May 16 no classes will be held for Year 8 students. This will allow our Year 8 students (and their teachers!) to fully recover from the exertions of the camp prior to returning to normal classes on Friday May 17.
Best wishes to all.
Kind regards
Allan Rennick
