Captains Corner

Welcome to the Captain’s Corner, with Alyssia and Patrick!

This term so far has been very exciting for all years as we have had a lot happen in the first four weeks. Years 5 & 6 went to Camp Weekaway, and we all had an amazing time! See the Camp reflections for more information. In Week One and Week Two, the Junior School had a firefighter incursion to teach them lots of things about safety and what they do in a day. This Monday, we had a STEM Incursion and it was lots of fun! One of the activities we did was a grip test, we measured our height and then we squeezed a grip device as hard as we could and then the machine gave us a score.

Last week, some of our Year 5 and 6 students attended the Da Vinci Decathlon. eight students were picked to go out for the day including the four STEM Captains Sebastian, Sophie, Jackson, and Oscar along with Alyssia, Lenny, Maximilian, and Robbie. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it and we all thought it was an amazing experience for us. We all were given topics to work on. There was Science, Ideology, Maths, English, Art-Poetry, Code breaking, Legacy, Creative producers, cartography, and engineering. Although we found it tough, we found it extremely fun.

On the 25th of April as you know we had ANZAC Day, and so on the 26th, we had a special Assembly to commemorate it. School Captain Pat. D invited an old school captain  (Hamish Beedell) to come to play the last post for the school and it was amazing, he actually got an award at St Kevin’s, his current school, for coming and playing for us.
