The Dance Curriculum is coming to St. Michael's on Thursday 16th of May. Our School Leaders danced along with Dean from Dance Curriculum during their Halogen Young Leaders excursion last term and loved using his routines as a brain break.
Each cohort will spend 40 minutes learning part of an age-specific dance routine, exploring some creativity through an improvisation activity, and developing some performance skills. The programs are all designed to engage every student and develop their love for the learning process.
At the end the whole school will come together to perform. We look forward to sharing videos and images with our community. We encourage all students to wear their sports uniform on this day.
Each week we have a whole school behaviour focus where we all work together to make an effort to act upon the behaviour. The students will learn about ways they can act upon this behaviour through role plays, drawings, conversations, dialogue and exploring examples as well as non-examples.

Circle time is an imperative component to our Social Emotional teaching and learning at St. Michaels. The circle time structure involves many aspects with the main focus being on building relationships and communicating. We use circles for many reasons including exploring issues of concern and exploring and solving problems. Circle Time gives us the opportunity for the teacher and class to communicate with each other about issues which promote self-esteem and positive behaviour.
