Congratulations to all students for their participation in the College Cross Country on Wednesday and Year 8 on Friday. It was excellent to see so many students engaged in the event and adding valuable house points to their team. We look forward to announcing the winning house this week!
Thank you to all the students, families and staff who attended the Edmonton ANZAC Day Dawn Service on Thursday. It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance to honour the young men and women who fought for our freedom across the many battles Australians were involved in. Thanks to Mr Doug Belton and St Mary’s students for running an excellent service for our community.
THIS WEEK
St Mary’s will host the TCS Cross Country on Friday this week. We look forward to the competition and wish our competitors success on Friday against the other schools in the district.
Below are some reminders from the Student Expectations Booklet on Jewellery and Personal Grooming at the College:
Students are only permitted to have one earring per ear lobe: stud or sleeper.
Necklaces should not be visible in the College uniform.
Bangles, bracelets and rings are not permitted.
Students are reminded that if they wear these jewellery items, they will be asked to remove them and collect them from the Student Support Room (SSR) at the end of the day.
Young men should ensure they are clean-shaven each school day.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons will take place this week. Heads of Year have taken time to develop a comprehensive sequence of lessons for this term targeting student needs at this time.
Last week, the Cairns Police were present at the end of the school day to observe inappropriate use of e-scooters, bikes and P plate drivers. We encourage all students to ensure they are up to date with the laws when it comes to using these modes of transportation.
