Student Leader Spotlight 

 

Keep an eye out for the following names people - they will be the  future movers and shakers in the Sustainability and Environment space!

 

Currently moving and shaking as Ripponlea’s Sustainability Leadership group. 

 

We asked them a few questions including what inspired them to become involved in the Sustainability Leadership Team and impact sustainability inititives at Ripponlea PS.


Name: Emi 

 

Tell us something about yourself:

My name is Emi. I'm the leader of the Sustainability Team. I play basketball .

 

What inspired you to join the Sustainability Team?

Sustainability has always been very important to me so when I found out that there was a sustainability team I decided to join it.

 

What has been your favourite project you've worked on since being part of the Sustainability Team?

I really loved making the scarecrow. It was so fun and I was really proud of it.

 

What is something you would like to carry out during your time on the Sustainability Team?

I would love to plant things in the Italian Garden.

 

What is one thing you would suggest we could all implement in our lives to contribute to a better future?

Don't litter.

 

If you could pass on a message to world leaders what would you say?

Stop chopping down trees, stop killing animals & don't litter.


Name: Vivienne 

 

Tell us something about yourself:

I enjoy playing soccer. I also play Basketball. My favourite food is chicken phó and my favourite colour is purple. 

 

What inspired you to join the Sustainability Team?

I have always knew the environment was important, but last years Sustainability Fest inspired me to get more involved. 

 

What has been your favourite project you've worked on since being part of the Sustainability Team?

My favourite project was building the scarecrow. 

 

What is something you would like to carry out during your time on the Sustainability Team?

I would like to inspire students to join in sustainability practises at school or home. 

 

What is one thing you would suggest we could all implement in our lives to contribute to a better future?

Consider your energy use, like turning your lights off when you are not using it. 

 

If you could pass on a message to world leaders what would you say?

Do more for the environment. Less talk, more action.

My name is Bilijana and I love sport!

 

What inspired you to join the Sustainability Team?

I love being sustainable and I love the earth!

 

What has been your favourite project you've worked on since being part of the Sustainability Team?

I loved making the scarecrow. It was the best!

 

What is one thing you would suggest we could all implement in our lives to contribute to a better future?

Stop littering, Stop killing animals!

 

If you could pass on a message to world leaders what would you say?

Stop climate change, stop cutting down trees and use less fossil fuels!

I play soccer and I love taking care of the environment. 

 

What inspired you to join the Sustainability Team?

Being in a sustainability group and seeing the world/climate change.

 

What has been your favourite project you've worked on since being part of the Sustainability Team?

The scarecrow. 

 

What is something you would like to carry out during your time on the Sustainability Team?

Knowing I made a difference.

 

What is one thing you would suggest we could all implement in our lives to contribute to a better future?

No more global warming.

 

If you could pass on a message to world leaders what would you say?

You aren't doing anything. You need to do more.
