Year 8 Food Studies: Spring Focaccia Art
Our Year 8 students have been diving into the design process in Food Studies, and over the next two weeks they’ll be putting their creativity (and tastebuds!) to the test. Students will be designing and producing their very own spring-themed “focaccia art.”
From brainstorming ideas and sketching designs to selecting fresh, colourful ingredients, students will explore how planning and creativity come together in food presentation. Here are some of our wonderful students creations!

Product Design
Year 7 Product Design students have had a busy term designing and producing laminated food servers. They have learned how to laminate and form timber veneer using precut moulds. They have created templates, then cut, filed and sanded their servers ready to decorate, or simply finish with chopping board oil. These ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing, high-quality servers will no doubt form a ‘unique gift’ for families or friends.

Costume Design
Students were asked to choose their own film/story to design a World Of Wearable Art costume for an existing or new character, appropriate to suit their needs. The costume had to be suitable for a runway show and be sculptural. Here is a sample of some of the amazing creations from Semester Two. See if you can guess which characters the costumes were based upon:
