MGC Parents’ Association News

Thank You to The MGCPA!
Thank you to the MGCPA for their generous funding of a giant Scrabble board for our library. This new addition is a fantastic centrepiece in the space and offers students a fun and educational brain break throughout the day.

We Need Your Help!
The Parents Association warmly invites all MGC parents and carers to attend the final meeting of the year, where we will discuss the future of the association on Tuesday 2nd December, 6:30pm Das Bierhaus, 650 Bridge Rd, Richmond. As several members are concluding their terms, we find ourselves with limited participation heading into 2026. We are eager to keep the Parents Association vibrant and continue offering things like the Grants Program, social catch ups, special breakfasts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, as well as staff morning tea events. However, we need more volunteers to make this happen. If you have the capacity to assist with these pre-planned activities next year, we would really love to see you at the meeting.
How to Contribute to the Parents’ Association and support our Grants Scheme
The generous financial contributions from families through fundraising and school support allows the Parents’ Association to provide teaching staff and student groups with opportunities for additional funding. These grants are essential for programs and equipment that would otherwise be difficult to implement or acquire. Recent funding has supported initiatives such as waste reduction equipment for the environmental team, orienteering equipment, Model UN General Assembly for the Humanities department, a bass flute for the music program, and digital SLR cameras for Media department.
The MGC PA Grants Committee has received funding requests from both staff and students this term. These applications encompass a range of initiatives, including programs, guest speakers, equipment purchases, and attendance at student conferences. We are eager to sup-port these creative proposals that promise to positively influence our community.
To continue supporting the vital work of the Parents’ Association and the Annual Grants Scheme, please indicate your contribution through the Lead and Achieve tick box on your 2026 financial contributions. The MGC Parents’ Association plays a crucial role in enhancing our students’ educational experiences by fostering community connections and providing necessary assistance. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and contributions.
