Carols On The Green 2025
Event Details:
We are excited to continue our Carols On The Green tradition this year, taking place on the evening of Wednesday 10th December on the oval. This annual end-of-year celebration provides an opportunity for all children to experience the joy, pride, nerves and satisfaction of collaborative performance for a large audience of hundreds of people. Families are invited to bring picnic rugs/chairs, as well as dinner to enjoy together.
3:30pm: Set up chairs and rugs on the oval if you wish. No items will be allowed to be set up on the oval before this time.
5:00pm: Enjoy a BYO picnic dinner, connect with others and check out the raffle and stalls as background music fills the summer air. NOTE: no BBQ available this year however there will be a small stall with drinks and icy poles for sale.
6:00pm: Concert starts. Please be seated by this time.
8:00pm: Concert concludes. Share some highlights from the night on your way home!
Songs:
All children will participate in two songs: their own year-level number, and the whole school finale. Lyrics, tracks and choreography videos can be found HERE.
What To Wear:
As children attend the carols event in clothes from home, below are costume themes and ideas to allow plenty of time to get things sorted. It is the overall effect of the whole year-level that has an impact, so please know that there is no pressure to go all out on costumes or requirement to wear every item on the list of suggestions. Keep in mind that children should not have anything in their hands, and that they need to be able to sit on the ground in their costume for a long period of time. We cannot have children leaving to change clothes as they also have an important role as respectful audience members for the other acts.
Prep: Christmas Gift - Christmas clothes with bows, ribbons, or wrapping paper as accessories

Victorian State School Spectacular 2026
An exciting opportunity for students who will be in Grade 5 or 6 next year!
We are thrilled to announce that in 2026, Ringwood North Primary School will be participating in the Victorian State School Spectacular, an incredible performing arts event run by the Victorian Department of Education. Selected students will join the Mass Cast (choir or dance) along with hundreds of other students from across Victoria at John Cain Arena on August 29th 2026 for two show stopping performances, to be broadcast on national television.
From the Department of Education:
“The annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular program is an invaluable performing arts opportunity for Victoria’s government primary and secondary school students. The program showcases and unites government school communities through working towards a common goal of more students reaching the highest level of achievement in the arts, ensuring kids are happy, healthy and resilient, and building pride in our schools. The Spectacular has become an invaluable rite of passage for Victoria’s top young talent, and a cherished, memorable education experience for all participants.”
As places are strictly limited, students will need to audition to be involved. Auditions will take place in the second week of Term 1 2026, between February 2nd-6th. Students will be selected based on a number of factors including their audition, past record of commitment to extracurricular activities including choir and production, and work habits displayed across classes.
Parents of students in Grade 5 or 6 in 2026 are invited to express their child’s interest in being in the choir using this link: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST. Please complete the expression of interest if you would like to receive further information about the VSSS at RNPS, including audition information.
