Historical RAP Event:

On Tuesday 9th of December at 11am the Victorian Government will make an apology to First Nations peoples for the profound harms inflicted, both historic and ongoing.

This is one of the key recommendations of the Yoorrook Justice  Commission and the first deliverable of the Victorian Statewide Treaty.

You can register to watch the livestream for FREE here, or join Hannah to watch the event unfold on her laptop (as it falls during lunchtime). As a significant historical milestone in Victoria this could be a great opportunity to share with our kids, and perhaps watch in delay with our Senior students.

EAL Reports - change

Thank you to all those teachers who have tagged me in their students EAL tracker.

We have recently found that in our reports no longer need to contain the '5 point scale progress rating' (the high/medium/low progress).

So when you go into compass to put in the progression points, you do not need to put in this information. There is no column for this anymore. I will delete it from the trackers for next year.

For this semester, please just put in the progression points for reading, writing and speaking and listening for EAL eg. A2.2

Make sure to press 'exclude' in the English curriculum progression points for those students.

If you have any questions or need any help, please reach out.

DIBELS Folders

Thank you to English teachers who have put their data on the DIBELS spreadsheet. It will be very helpful for next years teachers and for the handover process.

I will be coming around in week 9 or 10 to collect the folders and make sure everything is in there ready for next year and hand them to the new teachers early next year.

Please take out all student data and put them into the student transition folders before I come around.

Thank you again for taking on DIBELS this year. We will have a deeper dive into how to use the data next year. For now, here is a link to the DIBELS EOY SURVEY again to see your reflections. Thank you to the two people who have done it already!

French Students’ Magazine: Les Plumes Bilingues- Writing Upload Reminder

Just a reminder to please upload students’ writing to the “Les Plumes Bilingues” folder so we can launch the first magazine edition of this year.

To make this easier—especially for teachers in smaller classes (Foundation to Year 3)—you may simply take a photo of the students’ writing tasks and upload it to the appropriate folder.

For older students, you can upload any suitable assessed writing piece from the students’ portfolios.

Thank you very much for your collaboration!
