Hello from Auslan

This term in Auslan, we have been learning about emotions, holidays and Deaflympics.
Students in Prep to 2 listened to the story “The Colour Monster” and practiced sentences such as “I feel happy” in Auslan.
We then started learning about holidays. Grades 4 to 6 have been working on a “My holiday” presentation with an imaginary holiday. They have been practicing changing English sentences into Auslan grammar and signing the sentences ready to present next week to their classes.
See the preps showing you signs for plane and bus!
We also learnt about the Deaflympics, learning about the history of the games, similarities and differences to the Olympics, including making torches and medals and some sports signs.
It’s wonderful to see students engaged in learning so many signs through lots of different activities.
