Year 5/6 News

2026 CAPTAINS

Well done to all of our students who presented their speeches when applying for the 2026 Captains positions earlier this week. They should all be very proud of themselves and it is pleasing to see so many students willing to nominate for these positions. As we have discussed throughout the year, leadership qualities can be displayed in many ways and even if we do not have an ‘official title’, we can all lead be example and display leadership in a variety of ways.

Congratulations to our 2026 Captains!

School Captains: Sully Norman & Logan Portwine

School Vice-Captains: Harriet Giorgianni & Liv Pelly

Green House Captains: Zaine Holgate & Mitch Lees

Gold House Captains: Harvey Collins & Rory Hermon

INCLUSION DAY

On Wednesday, our Year 6 students attended the Inclusion Day at Rochester Secondary College as part of recognising International Day of People with Disability. Students were able to rotate through a series of planned activities and learn more about community services such as Headspace, Community House and Rochy Health. We were also lucky enough to listen to the guest speaker, former LCS student and Paralympian Col Pearse. Thank you to Lauren Pellegrino and the team at RSC for the providing our students and students from other schools in the wider community with this wonderful opportunity.

GRADE 5/6 BUSINESSES

Our students all did an amazing job working in their groups to conduct their businesses last week. It was a great way to learn and explore ‘real-life maths’ and to finish off our Economics & Businesses Unit. It was also fantastic to see lots of smiling faces as the whole school got to enjoy the tasty treats and fun activities on offer over the two days. Thank you to everyone for their support.
