Staffing for 2026
I am very pleased to share with you the 2026 staffing for Mount Pleasant Road Primary School. As always, a great deal of consideration has gone into forming each team. In developing our structure for next year, we have drawn carefully on teacher expertise, individual strengths, and the positive relationships already established within our school community.
Our goal has been to create balanced, supportive teams that will enable every student to feel known and engaged in their learning. We are confident that the 2026 team places each child in a strong position to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the year ahead.

Step Up Transition Program – Monday 15th December 2026
Mount Pleasant Road Primary School’s Step Up Transition Program helps students prepare for the 2026 school year, giving them the chance to meet new classmates and teachers and experience what learning will be like next year.
The program supports students to:
- Build confidence by becoming familiar with new routines and learning spaces.
- Make peer connections and feel a sense of belonging.
Working alongside our Transition to School and Step Up to Secondary programs, Step Up helps students and teachers begin the new year ready, confident, and prepared for success in 2026. An email will be sent home Friday about the class your child will be and their teacher.
End of Year Concert
The evening was filled with incredible performances by our talented students, who brought the stage to life with their singing and dancing, in a sea of green and red. From the Kinder students, to the senior choir and dance troupe routines, the effort and energy on display were outstanding.
A big thank you goes out to our families for attending and showing your support. Your encouragement and enthusiasm in the audience created a wonderful atmosphere and made the evening so special for our community.
We are also so grateful to our amazing staff, particularly Kate Tyson, Tegan Kitteringham, Sarah Cullen, Jack Bell as well as teachers and ES. Thank you to Leonie Semmens and our parent volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the event together. From organising rehearsals, barbecues, to setting up the stage and managing sound and logistics, your effort made the night a huge success. And, of course, congratulations and thank you to our incredible students!
Buddy Lunch
Our students enjoyed their end of year buddy lunch this week. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to come together, relax, and celebrate the friendships they’ve built throughout the year. They found some welcoming shade where they could sit comfortably, share their lunches, chat, and enjoy each other’s company.
Volunteer Morning Breakfast
A huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who were able to join us this morning. Your time, energy, and support make an incredible difference to our school community.
I would like to give a special acknowledgement to the amazing Leonie Semmens for her outstanding work and dedication in organising our school events. Her commitment, along with the ongoing efforts of our Parents and Friends group, helps create the warm, vibrant, and connected community we are so proud of.
This year also marked the first of many ‘Pleasant Day Out’, a wonderful new initiative led by Luke Neilson and supported by a committed team of dedicated volunteers. Their hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm brought this event to life, setting the foundation for a tradition that will continue to bring joy and connection to our school community for years to come.
We also extend our thanks to the many volunteers who couldn't make it today, who contributed in so many valuable ways, supporting camps, excursions, Pleasant Day Out, classroom reading, ICE volunteers, Working Bee teams, and School Council. Every contribution, big or small, enriched the experiences of our students and strengthened our school.
Two weeks to go
With just two weeks to go, we still have so much to celebrate as we approach the end of the school year. Our Online Music Concert is set to showcase the incredible talents of our students, while Graduation will give us the chance to honour the achievements and growth of our Grade graduates. We are also looking forward to our Foundation Information Night, where families can connect and prepare for the year ahead, as well as our upcoming Step-Up Days, which help students transition smoothly into their next year level. Alongside these events, a range of end of year celebrations will ensure we finish the year on a positive note.
Semester Reports
Teachers have been busy finalising reports using the data they have collected throughout the semester. Semester reports should be read in conjunction with your child’s Seesaw portfolio, which provides examples of their achievements and learning over time. Reports will be published to Compass on Wednesday 17 December. Parents of students finishing their time at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School (Grade 6 students) are reminded to download copies of their child’s report, as access to Compass will cease after the school closes for the year.
