Principal News - Week 10

Transition day today

Today students will be finding out who their 2026 teacher is and spending time in their 2026 class with their 2026 peers. Your child’s current teacher will email this information to you later in the day so that you know who their teacher and class group is for 2026.

Staffing Update

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that Celine D’Avoine and Sarah Banbury will be moving into roles at new schools in 2026. Celine will be joining Donnybrook Primary School and Sarah will be joining Eltham College. We are excited for them both and wish them the very best in their new positions. We of course, are sad to see them go and will miss them both very much.  Both teachers have contributed well beyond their classroom commitments to our school and have enhanced the learning journeys of many of our students. We will be farewelling them at our final assembly next Friday.

Early dismissal next Friday December 19th

Next Friday will be an early dismissal for students as it is the final day of term 4 for 2025. Students in years 2-6 will be dismissed from the assembly court at 1:30pm following our assembly. We will send out a compass news feed early next week advising the start time for our assembly once we know all the items included in the assembly.

Student reports

Student reports will be live for parent viewing on Thursday December 18th via Compass. A reminder to year 6 parents and any families leaving the school to download any of your child’s reports that you wish to keep a copy of prior to December 19th. We will be completing the rollover of students on this day and reports for exiting students will no longer be accessible to parents after this date.

Please consider downloading all your child’s reports from Foundation to Year 6 so that you have a keepsake.

Year 6 graduation

On Wednesday night we celebrated year 6 graduation. Thank you to the year 6 teachers for all the hard work that you put into making the night such a wonderful success. It was a fabulous night celebrating the milestone of finishing primary school. It was a night that was student led and wow, did they do a terrific job! I wish to congratulate our year 6 students on their outstanding behaviour on the night. Students upheld all our school values and should also be feeling very proud of themselves when they reflect upon the evening. Thank you so much to the group of year 5 parents who helped by preparing and serving supper to our guests. We can’t have events that run smoothly without the support of our families and once again we had that.

End of Year celebration

Last night we held our end of year celebration concert. The weather was perfect for a picnic dinner as well as the entertainment provided by our students. Thank you to Chrissy Jedrys and Kate Hocking for your efforts in making it such a lovely night for everyone. The student performances were terrific and reflected their enthusiasm and hard work in preparing for the night.
