Principal Report
Mr. Lehane
As 2025 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank all of our families, students, and community members for your incredible support throughout the year. It has been a fantastic year at Bridgewater Primary School, filled with learning, laughter, and growth.
Our students embraced every opportunity, from Foundation to Grade 6, showing curiosity, confidence, and resilience. Highlights included River Detectives, River Swimming, a Carlton Football Club visit, a lively Downball Incursion, Book Week at Raywood Primary School, and a whole-school Melbourne Camp. Community events such as the BOLD Carols and Movie Night on the Oval also brought families together and strengthened our school spirit.
Your ongoing involvement and encouragement have made a real difference. From celebrating student achievements to participating in events and supporting programs, your contributions have helped make 2025 a year to remember.
As we celebrate the year’s successes, we also farewell our 2025 graduate, Hunter Ryan. Hunter has been a valued leader, friend, and role model, showing outstanding sportsmanship, kindness, and leadership as our Vice Captain. We wish him all the best as he moves on to secondary school — we know he will continue to thrive.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited for what’s to come. With new opportunities, events, and experiences on the horizon, we know next year will be even bigger and better. We can’t wait to continue working together to make our school a place where every student thrives.
Thank you again for being part of our school community. Wishing you a safe, joyful, and relaxing holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Bridgewater Primary School proudly celebrates the graduation of our sole 2025 graduate, Hunter Ryan. Hunter has been an exceptional student, a valued leader, and a true role model for his peers.
Hunter’s love of sport, particularly soccer and football, has been matched by his commitment to the school community. As Vice Captain, he has shown leadership, kindness, and a genuine care for younger students. His friendships across the school are a testament to the respect and warmth he inspires in others.
As Hunter moves on to secondary school, we send him with our full support and best wishes. We are confident that the skills, resilience, and confidence he has developed at Bridgewater will help him thrive in the next stage of his educational journey.
We’ll miss you, Hunter — and we know your bright future is just beginning!
Our River Swimming Program has now wrapped up for the year, and it was a fantastic success. Students demonstrated outstanding growth in their swimming ability, water safety knowledge, and overall confidence in the river environment.
Throughout the program, students practised a range of essential skills, including safe entry and exit techniques, floating, controlled breathing, stroke development, and understanding how to stay safe in natural waterways. They also learned how to assess river conditions, recognise hazards, and support one another while swimming.
One of the most rewarding parts of the program was seeing students’ confidence flourish. Many who were initially hesitant became much more comfortable in the water, showing persistence, resilience, and pride in their progress. Just as importantly, the students had a tremendous amount of fun—laughing with friends, splashing, trying new challenges, and enjoying one of Bridgewater’s most special traditions.
A huge thank you to Deb and Shelley, who were wonderful swimming instructors. Their expertise, patience, and enthusiasm made the program both safe and enjoyable for all students.
We are extremely proud of the skills, confidence, and joy our students gained through this year’s program.

The BOLD Carols took place last night, and despite a few technical hiccups, the evening was a tremendous success. Our students performed beautifully, showcasing their confidence, teamwork, and festive spirit. They represented Bridgewater Primary School with pride, and the audience couldn’t have been more delighted.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Lou and Andrew for their technical support throughout the night. Lou’s amazing singing added something truly special to the event, and we are incredibly grateful for her talent and generosity.
We would also like to extend a big thank you to BOLD for organising such a well-run community celebration. From the BBQ and drinks to the Zooper Doopers and the exciting surprise visit from Santa, every detail helped make the evening joyful and memorable for families.
Our appreciation also goes to the CFA and the Inglewood District Bank for their support of the event and our community.
The BOLD Carols once again highlighted the strength and spirit of our local community. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the night so special.
