Partnerships and Pathways

In an exciting day of pathways discovery, two groups of enthusiastic students explored future career aspirations across both STEM and Health last Friday. Our Year 9 team took part in the Western Harbour Tunnel Careers Showcase hosted by ACCIONA at Penola Catholic College, joining neighbouring schools for an immersive experience featuring VR tunnel exploration, interactive engineering exhibits and conversations with industry professionals driving one of Sydney’s major infrastructure projects. Meanwhile, our Year 10 group attended the NBMLHD Research Showcase at Nepean Hospital, where they heard from leading researchers—including keynote speaker Professor Louise Baur AM — discovering how passion, persistence and innovation shape real-world medical breakthroughs. Across both events, students were inspired by the possibilities ahead and gained valuable insight into the diverse careers shaping our world.

Following their impressive 2nd place win in the ACU VOYSE Social Enterprise Challenge, the One Stop Swap team from Year 10 enjoyed an exclusive Lunch and Learn mentoring session with entrepreneur Lee Ussher, founder of Buzz Web Media. As part of their prize package, the students received personalised feedback on their social enterprise concept, along with expert guidance in areas such as social media, branding and direct marketing. Lee also shared her inspiring career journey — from primary school teacher to innovative business founder — encouraging the team to reflect on their own pathways and future aspirations. We extend our sincere thanks to Lee for her time and expertise, and to Adjoa Assan and ACU for organising and supporting this valuable opportunity.

Our students continue to be inspired by our incredibly generous alumnae, who return regularly to Caroline Chisholm College to share their diverse and exciting career journeys ~ and our Lunch and Learn guest speaker series is thriving with enthusiastic audiences from every year group. Recently, we welcomed back two outstanding graduates: Nadine Hanna (Class of 2022), who spoke about her pathway from a childhood love of design to studying Architectural Design at WSU, offering insights into the creative and technical world of residential and commercial architecture. Taranpreet Kaur (Class of 2021), now a Laboratory Assistant with 4Cyte Pathology, shared how her passion for science — and her Bachelor of Science (Biomedical) at UTS — led her to a meaningful career supporting patient care behind the scenes. Both ladies generously reflected on their studies, challenges, motivations and the skills that truly matter, leaving our students inspired, informed and energised about their own future possibilities. We are deeply grateful to Nadine and Taran for returning to CCC and continuing to uplift the next generation!

A big thank you to journalist Alison Hall and the Western Weekender for their wonderful support of our recent Year 12 (2026) Careers High Tea, with the latest edition featuring an article that beautifully captures the spirit of the event. We also congratulate Year 12 student Rhianna, who represented the College with professionalism, positivity and maturity — her thoughtful insights were outstanding and she continues to embrace every opportunity in the pathways space as she shapes her exciting future. We are grateful to the Western Weekender for showcasing our students and our community. Here are some photos taken by CSPD photographer Gene Ramirez of this special event.

As our Class of 2025 officially signed out from the College last week, we took some time to chat with many of them about “What’s Next?” as they explore a diverse range of pathways including university, TAFE/college, apprenticeships, traineeships, employment and gap years for work, travel and skill-building. For those heading to uni, our Year 12s collectively received an outstanding 212 Early Offers from a wide range of universities and colleges across Sydney and beyond! This fantastic milestone reflects their hard work, passion and character both inside and beyond the classroom. No matter what’s next for each of them, we wish our Year 12s a bright, happy future and congratulate them on all they have achieved as they begin their next chapter!
