Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction

We have had a fantastic start to Term 4.

This term, I am looking forward to working in classrooms modelling and team teaching, as well as supporting teachers to provide enrichment activities to students.

Over the past fortnight I have been team teaching writing in Year 5 where we are focusing on poetry. The students have completed black out poems: a poem created using words already on a page, blacking out the other words around them. The standard of the work has been outstanding!

I have also continued implementing paired fluency with Stages 2 and 3. All classes now have reading fluency practices set up where students are working towards accuracy, pace and expression goals. We are looking forward to seeing their growth at the end of the term!

In the coming weeks I will be working with teachers to plan teaching and learning in English and Mathematics for 2024 when the new 3-6 syllabuses are released and reviewing teaching and learning in K-2 following a year of working with their new syllabuses.
