ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students could use lolly packets such as m&ms, smarties or skittles to find the fractions of the collection.

Example: In my m&m fun size packet I have:

3 blue, 4 red, 1 brown, 2 yellow

Therefore I have:

3/10 blue

4/10 red

1/10 brown

2/10 yellow

For an extension students could simplify the fraction and or represent the fractions as a percentage
