ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Students read independently identifying ways the author has keep them engaged in the text.

Students record their thinking making sure they use evidence from the book.

Example: I think the author has used figurative language to keep me interested in the book. She has an example of a simile- the cities lights sparkled like jewels on a necklace. This simile helps me visualise the sparkling lights.
