Personal Projects Exhibition Evening - Tomorrow Night!

The Grade 10 Personal Project Exhibition will be held tomorrow, Thursday 2 November, in the Auditorium. In periods 2 and 3, students will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition.

Grade 10 parents and families are warmly invited to attend the exhibition in the evening.

Parents and students will arrive and meet at 5:50pm in the Auditorium for a 6pm start, with the evening ending at 7:30pm. We welcome families to come to view the Exhibition and to speak with students about their learning journey.

Year 9/10 Exams (Repeat)

Secondary examinations are held this term for students in Years 9-10.  This year, exams will be held Mon-Thurs of Week 6 (20-23 November). The key focus of the examinations is practice in the process of sitting an exam. Students are, therefore, given information to support their exam preparation and study for a limited number of subjects.

Exams can support a student’s final result and even give them a boost to a higher award.  They are not the final determinant of a student’s result and are not designed in this way. In instances where students require additional support or an alternative space, this is provided in consultation with the Learning Enhancement team.

Students have received a digital copy of the exam specifications and timetable. Parents/carers are encouraged to view the attached exam specifications and timetable and check-in with their child to confirm that they have received this information. If further guidance and support is needed, students and parents/carers should firstly contact the teacher setting an exam, secondly Head of Faculty (david.klaver@scc.tas.edu.au (Maths/Science), shayne.Hull@scc.tas.edu.au (Humanities) or thirdly todd.barker@scc.tas.edu.au  (Executive Coordinator | Head of Secondary).

Year 11/12 TCE Final weeks and Examinations (Repeat)

Year 11/12 students are busy in this their final three weeks of the year completing final assessments for their courses, and revising and preparing for external assessments for those who are sitting formal examinations. The TCE written examination timetable is attached. Oral exams for languages are held at Hobart College in the week before the written examination schedule.

Term 4 Week 3 will be a tutorial week for those students completing external assessments. Other students (completing Level 2 courses) are required at classes until Friday 3 November. If there is still work to be completed to complete a course, students may be asked to come in during normal class time the following week(s) to do so. The external written examinations are complete by Friday 17 November.

Year 11/12 Final Ratings Reports for TCE courses 

Reports were sent to parents and students on Wednesday 25 October. If parents have any questions or would like further discussion, please contact the course teacher or email Mrs Schuth. (veronica.schuth@scc.tas.edu.au) Students are encouraged to discuss their results with their teacher(s) and ask for clarification on any point if needed.
