10C Work Experience Visits

In week 4 we had a total of 21 students from 10C go out on work experience in all different industries in our local community which included community services and early education, hospitality, health, engineering and fabrication, accounting/financial services, equine, agriculture, and farm machinery. It was fantastic to see all the students enjoying their time out on work experience as it is a great opportunity for the students to gain some experience and understanding of what it really is like in a work environment to help them further investigate their career pathway options. There will be more of an insight from 10C when they return to school and complete their reflections in class.

From 10C we had five students who were lucky enough to do their work experience with Swan Hill District Health doing nursing, allied health, and radiology. We would like to thank the team at the Education Centre for all their time coordinating their timetables and supervising the students when they were in the different departments. 

Workplace visits in Week 3

Jodie South has completed work experience at Swan Hill District Health on her nursing rotation she experienced a day in Midwifery, ED, theatre, sub-acute and the acute ward.

Lachlan Bull has been going to Fury Engines on Mondays and will continue this till the end of the year. 

Sophie Sutton has been at Swan Hill Early Learning on a Monday showing her initiative while on work experience as well as always interacting with the children in the 3–5-year room.

Deakin University Information

Change of Preference Event being held on Tuesday 12th December 11am – 4pm at our Melbourne, Burwood, Geelong Waterfront, Geelong Waurn Ponds, and Warrnambool campuses. Deakin is providing one-on-one course advice and support during the Change of Preference period via in-person events, phone, live chat and email. Guided campuses and accommodation tours led by current students will run on the hour between 11am and 3pm.
