Dear Highvale Community,

I hope this newsletter finds you well and thriving as we navigate through the month of November. It has been a time filled with celebrations, reflections, and noteworthy accomplishments within our school community.

Firstly, I extend my warmest wishes to all who celebrated Diwali on Sunday. May the Festival of Lights have brought joy, prosperity, and good health to your homes. It is heartening to witness the rich cultural diversity within our school, and I hope that the spirit of Diwali continues to illuminate your lives throughout the year.

On Saturday, November 11, we observed Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion dedicated to honouring the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. It is crucial that we pause to reflect on the significance of this day and express our gratitude for the sacrifices made. We hope that each member of our community found a meaningful way to pay their respects, whether through a moment of silence, attending a memorial service, or engaging in personal reflection.

Shifting gears to celebrate the talents within our school, I am thrilled to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all the performers who showcased their musical prowess at our junior and intermediate music concert on Thursday, November 2. This event marked the culmination of our musical endeavours for the year, and I am immensely proud of each student who contributed to the success of the concert. Your dedication and passion for music have not gone unnoticed.

Equally commendable are our outdoor education students who participated in a challenging two-day camp last Thursday and Friday. Hiking a total of 21 kilometres over the two days is no small feat, and I am pleased to report that our students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and resilience. I trust that the experiences gained during the camp will be cherished memories for years to come.

As we enter the exam period, I want to wish our Year 7 - 11 students the very best. Your hard work and preparation will undoubtedly pay off, and I have full confidence in your abilities. Additionally, for our Year 10 and 11 students transitioning into Year 11 and 12 next year, Headstart will commence on November 27. This is an exciting opportunity to get a head start on the upcoming academic year, and I encourage all eligible students to take full advantage of this program.

In closing, I want to express my gratitude for the positive energy and engagement that each member of our school community brings to our learning environment. Together, we continue to foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous growth.

Wishing you all a wonderful month ahead.
