VCE VM & TSC
Bayside Community Garden
Year 11 VM students decided to build new garden beds to grow vegetable crops to give to those in need and start selling at discount prices at our community markets. Ben Kelly and Justin Mason helped the students build the new beds and learning basic construction skills during the process. We are hoping to plant these beds with suitable crops for the summer break later this term. Thanks to James Siede and the Year 11 class for thinking of this brilliant concept.
Pantry Plus Food Drive
The Year 11 & 12 VM class ran a successful food drive during Term 3. Deb Eastman came to pick up all the food and was amazed at the generosity of the Bayside community. Thank you so much to everyone who donated food to this wonderful organisation. This food will be distributed later this week to over 100 families, who are struggling to keep healthy meals on the table.
Pantry Plus Working Session
Our Year 11 Certificate II in Active Volunteering students continued work on the community garden at Peninsula City Church’s Pantry Plus. We are hoping to finish this project later this year so clients can grow healthy vegetables, which can be used to make nutritious meals. Thanks so much to Justin Mason and Ben Kelly for helping put this session together.
Year 11 & 12 VM Showcase
The Year 11 & 12 students did a brilliant job running a showcase night for their families and teachers. They put together individual presentations as well as a trivia competition and goat feeding activity. They chose roles including catering, tech and being MC’s and gave a polished performance, highlighting their growth throughout this year. Thanks so much to the VM teachers for helping to coordinate this wonderful event.
