Year 11 Unit 2 reports will be released this week. They will be available to students and parents via the Parent Portal and Student Café. Please take the time to go through the report with your son, celebrating his achievements and reflecting on areas of potential improvement.

Week 3 of our Masterclass timetable begins this week, running from Monday to Wednesday.
All students must log in via the QR code located on the door of each masterclass room. A roll will also be taken. Masterclasses are compulsory. Students need to be dressed in full school uniform and ensure they have all the required equipment for their subjects (e.g., calculators, plays/novels etc.).
If you have any questions about General subject Masterclasses, please contact Roxanne Rosenberg at rosenbergr@marash.qld.edu.au or Adam Knight at knighta@marash.qld.edu.au
For boys who are not enrolled in any General classes and therefore will not be required at General subject Masterclasses, the College is running Skills masterclasses across weeks 1-3 of Term 4. These classes are designed around the concept of life skills required after school. If you have any questions about Skills Masterclasses, please contact Mrs Robyn Gooley on gooleyr@marash.qld.edu.au.
The External Exam block runs from Monday 23 October to Tuesday 14 November 2023.
Year 12 students will receive an email this week outlining rooming for these exams. It is important that all boys read these emails carefully as they will include information about equipment and the timing of all exams.
The External Exam block schedule, as well as the required equipment lists, are available on the Marist portal (via this link for parents and via this link for students), and on the QCAA website.
Year 7-11 Assessment schedules will be released this week. Please ensure that you take the time to read these so that you are aware of what is due for your son.
Your son will also have access to his assessment via Student Café. He will be able to access task sheets and assessment rubrics.
To best prepare our boys for NAPLAN next year and encourage our boys to continue to develop the skill of appropriate and logical working out in Mathematics, leaders will continue visits in our Year 8 maths classes this week.
Leaders are giving students a raffle ticket who are demonstrating exceptional working out. Congratulations to last week's winners who received a $10 tuckshop voucher or a front-of-line tuckshop pass.
Each boy in Year 8 has been instructed to complete 20 minutes of MathSpace each night. At the end of each week, Ms Davidson will be checking the boy's productivity and achievement with the top achieving students being put into the raffle at assembly for the $10 tuckshop vouchers or Fastpass.
Boys are expected to be completing homework and/or study for their subjects each night. This is of particular importance as it is a short-term. This comprises of the following elements:

Should issues arise at home that prevent students from being able to complete homework tasks, parents are asked to advise teachers by means of a note in their diary.
Year 12 students and parents/carers were emailed this week regarding how to access their final subject results and SEP (including QCE and relevant certificates). This information has come directly from the QCAA.
All Year 12 students should be on myQCE – if not, help for registration can be found here: https://myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au/home/help/student-portal-faqs We would suggest this be sorted as soon as possible to make sure results and SEPs can be accessed smoothly from the 15th of December.
