Breakfast Club
The Wellbeing Team has been eagerly involved in the breakfast club on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:10am. Students have been enjoying a range of breakfast foods, including toasties, fruit, cereal and flavoured milk. The atmosphere in the morning is vibrant with thanks to the students that attend. A big thank you to Food Bank Victoria and Eat Up for supporting the running of the ECSC breakfast club.
Harmony Week
Harmony Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the diverse backgrounds that make up our community. It’s about respect, inclusion, and belonging for everyone.
To mark the week, Edgars Creek students took part in a variety of activities:
- Henna Workshop: Students designed and applied henna patterns, collaborating and sharing ideas as they experienced this traditional art form.
- African Drumming: Students explored traditional drumming techniques and rhythms, gaining insight into the cultural significance of this music.
- HSP Cooking Class: Students prepared and sampled a dish, learning about the importance of food in bringing communities together.
- Bollywood Dancing Workshop: Senior students participated in a fun and energetic dance session, experiencing a popular cultural dance style.
- Silent Disco: Students enjoyed dancing to their own choice of music using headphones, creating an inclusive and lively atmosphere.
- Cultural Showcase: The week concluded with students sharing cultural performances and stories, highlighting the richness of our school community.
Harmony Week provided a valuable opportunity for students to celebrate diversity and strengthen our sense of belonging!
Pat Cronin
During this term, the Year 9 cohort had a guest speaker from the Pat Cronin Foundation who came in to discuss, educate, and provide strategies to empower students to stop violence and prevent coward punches. The session offered information on how to manage conflict and emotions, encouraging students not to resort to violence in difficult situations. The second part of this presentation will continue in July.
"The Pat Cronin foundation works towards ending the coward punch for good. They work on spreading Pat’s message throughout schools in Victoria. They have shared Pat’s story with over 80,000 students in over 400 schools. Their mission is to end violence, educating young people about its effects.
They talked to us about the importance of reducing the amount of violence in schools because that is where we can stop a lot of damage being done. We gained valuable insight into the impacts one punch can have, and why a ‘coward punch’ has its name. I think that the presentation was an incredible learning experience which showed us the impact we can have by learning to de-escalate situations".

Reconciliation Week
27 May to 3 June
Theme: Now More Than Ever
At Edgars Creek Secondary College, we marked National Reconciliation Week as a time to reflect, learn, and grow together. The theme Now More Than Ever reminds us that the journey toward reconciliation requires ongoing commitment from us all.
To recognise this important week, some of our students took part in a weaving activity, connecting with Aboriginal culture.
Reconciliation Week is an opportunity for our school community to:
- Acknowledge the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Celebrate the resilience and contributions of First Nations communities.
- Reflect on how we can foster respect, truth-telling, and equity.
- Strengthen relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
- Take meaningful steps, big or small, towards a more united and inclusive future.
At ECSC, reconciliation is not just something we observe - it’s a value we strive to uphold every day.
