Autumn and how to handle changes.

Autumn brings new changes to the trees and the temperature as the leaves fall down. As with all changes in life it can be hard to adjust to the world around you. When things change it can be overwhelming for some and can take time to readjust to the new timetable of the season. To combat overwhelming feelings and stay grounded during times of change, here are some tools you can use to keep up your child’s wellbeing.

Meditation: Meditation can be used to calm the body and mind and focus on the present. Mindfulness in times of change can help ease the stress of changes. Meditation can be done anywhere at any time and there are plenty of templates to use online. Try personalising the meditation to something that is special for you and your family.

Gratefulness: Gratefulness is an easy and quick way to remind yourself and others that everyday, even bad days, there is something to be grateful for. Practising gratitude can be done anytime and anywhere too.

Ask the question “What are you grateful for today?” It can be small, for example they are grateful for the colourful red leaves. It can also be something bigger for example, something good that happened that day at school. Try setting some time aside everyday to be grateful.
