Safe to School – Road Safety Project

(Parent Surveys coming soon!) In partnership with Road Safe Central Highlands – Term 2, 2025

This term, our school is pleased to be working with Road Safe Central Highlands on a community-based road safety initiative called Safe to School.

The aim of this project is to address common road safety concerns around our school—such as busy roads, unsafe driver behaviour, and traffic congestion—many of which are caused by the high number of families driving to and from school each day.

Through this partnership, we’re working to make it easier and safer for students to walk, scoot, or ride their bikes to school. Here's what the project involves:

  • Gathering feedback from families, staff, and older students to identify key issues and explore possible solutions.
  • Working with Local Government and Regional Roads Victoria to understand which changes are achievable and what may be out of scope.
  • Creating an action plan that supports safer access to school via active transport, including the use of education programs and other resources.

As part of this process, parents will soon receive a link to a short survey. We appreciate your time in completing it, as your input is vital in helping shape future actions. Students in the older grades will also be completing a similar survey during class time.

We look forward to involving our school community in this important project.
