PHYSICAL EDUCATION

What a fantastic day we had at our annual House Cross Country, held on Thursday, May 2nd at Caulfield Grammar! From the energy on the start line to the cheers at the finish, our students showed incredible determination, team spirit, and resilience throughout the event.

A huge congratulations to all our students for their enthusiastic participation, with a special shoutout to our Foundation students, who took part in their first whole-school event! It was a joy to see their smiles and pride as they crossed the finish line; what a memorable milestone!

To our Grades 3–6 students, we applaud your outstanding efforts. A number of students have qualified for the District Cross Country; it's an incredible achievement that reflects your commitment to training and doing your best. We are so proud of you!

Finally, thank you to all staff, families, and volunteers who helped make the day such a smooth and successful one. Whether you were cheering from the sidelines, helping at stations, or supporting from afar, your encouragement meant the world to our young athletes.

Go Rippers! 💙💚❤️💛

LOTE: JAPANESE PROGRAM

It has been great to see students progress in learning Japanese.

Junior students have been singing “I can sing a rainbow” in Japanese. The song helps them to name colours.

They are also counting one to twenty in Japanese.

Middle and senior students have been continuing to practise Hiragana to read some words. They are also developing ways to express what colour they like all in Japanese.

What a great joy to see them grow.

In May, Japanese people celebrate “Children’s Day”. This is a day all parents wish their children to grow strong, happy, healthy and successful.

We saw a big Japanese koi fish kite called ‘Koi-nobori’. A Japanese family displays ‘Koi-nobori’ for Children’s Day. Koi fish is a symbol of strength and ‘Koi-nobori’ display is a Japanese tradition.
