Principal’s News

Nicholas Boyhan

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today is a very significant day in the Catholic Church with the election of the new Pontiff, Pope Leo the 14th.

Born Robert Francis Prevost in1955, Pope Leo XIV spent much of his life working in Peru.   In 2014, Pope Francis appointed him as Apostolic Administrator and later Bishop of Chiclayo, Peru. He was named Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and elevated to the rank of cardinal by Pope Francis in 2023.  The 69-year-old Chicago native is the first American pope.

Mother's Day Celebrations

Today, over fifty of our Mothers, Grandmothers and even a Great-Grandmother gathered with their children and the Staff from St Joseph's School to celebrate Mother's Day.

We shared a lovely breakfast together, followed by a liturgy run by our senior students.  We were entertained by our F/1/2s with a Mother's Day song, before heading off to the classrooms for a variety of fun activities.  We were able to give each of our mums a bunch of beautiful red tulips which were very generously donated by Scott DeBoer, the father of Charlee in Year 1/2.

I am very grateful to the staff for their collaboration in the preparation of these celebrations and especially for getting out of bed at the crack of dawn to be here with me to prepare the breakfast this morning.

Love and best wishes to all the Mums for their special day this this Sunday.  I hope you all celebrate well and are spoilt by your families, as you absolutely deserve to be.

Kind regards,

Nick.
