News from Year Six

The Election this week provided a great opportunity for some revision about our Term 1 unit, 'Making Democracy'.  We watched a special edition of Behind the News about Australia's election process and some of the election promises of the major parties.  We then spent some time on ABC's Voting Compass selecting the issues that were important to us.  We all  created our own private polling booths and voted using preferential voting cards.

When Harry, Noah and James tallied the votes, we discovered that we had elected......The Animal Justice Party!

Excursion to UYSC

This Wednesday, we are heading off to UYSC for a transition morning.  Students will have a sport session and a cooking session.  Please ensure the medical details (including dietary requirements) are up-to-date for all students on the nForma app.

Extreme Weather

Our unit this term on Extreme Weather involves collecting data from our home made weather stations and exploring different climates of the world and how they are affected.  Now that we have finished building all the components of our weather stations, will we use them next week to start collecting data.  Check out the school face book page for more photos from our excursion to the Imax theatre and Melbourne Museum.

Mother's Day

We hope that all the mothers enjoy the letters that the students wrote them for Mother's Day.
