Maths- Part-whole
This week in Maths we have been learning about Part-Whole by splitting numbers up to 10 into two groups. We used balls and containers to show the partitioned (split up) parts and counters to play a game called shake and spill.
We also learned about Tens Friends- the partners that always make the number 10. Like 0 & 10, 1 & 9, 2 & 8, 3 & 7, 4 & 6, 5 & 5! We can use the Tens Friends rainbow for us to remember the Tens Friends!
CVC Word Making
This week we have been revising all the sounds we already know and we practiced making them using stamps, writing them and using alphabet tiles! Next week we will be starting to learn some new letters!
F/1/2 PHOTO TRAIL EXCURSION
Just a reminder that on Tuesday 13th of May, the F/1/2 students will be participating in the annual Photo Trail at Maroondah Dam. The Photo Trail day involved students using photo clues to unlock a secret sentence. They need to walk around and find all the clues. There will also be some fun activities and games on the day as well.
There is a permission slip on NForma to fill out. If you have not yet done so, please do this ASAP and make sure that all medical records are up to date.
The bus will be picking us up at 9 am. We usually return by 2:30 pm- we will keep you posted via email and Facebook if you would like to collect your child earlier than 3 pm. The kids are usually very tired when we get back.
Children are to provide their own lunch and water. Glass containers are not permitted for drinks. Children can bring a small bag that has their lunch in it.
Students are required to wear full sports uniform on the day. They will need suitable runners as the day will involve a lot of movement.
A jumper and jacket would be advised as it can be cold.
